As President Trump and his advisers consider making changes in the White House amid the flurry of reports involving Trump's campaign associates and Russia, one such change could involve making Chief of Staff Reince Priebus the ambassador to Greece, according to a report.
The Washington Post said Saturday there have been discussions among those close to Trump about possibly using an ambassadorship as a "face-saving way to remove him from the White House."
Priebus's mother is Greek.
A White House spokeswoman, however, denied that possibility.
Still, multiple reports indicate Trump and his advisers are preparing to shakeup the senior staff at the White House in an effort to better push back against the cascade of news about ties between Trump's campaign associates and Russia.
Several aides and Trump allies told the Washington Post that White House aides are trying to build momentum for the president's policy agenda and retool how the White House communicates with the public.
That could include more campaign-style rallies for Trump and a more behind-the-scenes role for White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
They're also discussing how to build a "war room."
Additionally, aides said it's possible Trump's former campaign aides could return to work in the White House, including former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and former deputy campaign manager David Bossie.
Trump returns to Washington from a nine-day trip overseas Saturday night.
